I read (somewhere on this forum?) php handling of the email process would be written to replace the current procmail thingy, but I can't seem to find it. Is it available or..?
Great software. |

modo,
I don't use procmail at all. I have a forwarder setup on my server to pipe any unknown email addresses to my .recmail - I did this because my hosts won't install procmail.
If you would like more help, post up and I'll share with you what I can. |

NokiaGuy first of all thx for the offer. I accept your offer.
1. I've got the option of catching all unknown email in my control panel.
How to move on from here. My control panel offers 2 options :
1. fill in a new email address
2. choose from existing email addresses on the system
what email adress do I use here / how do I get the received mail forwarded to the recmail?
Thx in advance! |

Think I got it working now (after piping). Sending email from phone didn't work, but I get the following error after sending from a regular email address:
Can't locate DBI.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.6/mach /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.6 /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl /usr/local/lib/perl5/5.8.6/BSDPAN /usr/local/lib/perl5/5.8.6/mach /usr/local/lib/perl5/5.8.6 .) ... recmail.pl line 3. |

Hi,
glad you got it (partially) working! So you have set up a forwarder within your CPanel to pipe all unknown email to...? This is how I have it working:
I created a new EMAIL address within CPanel (to keep it all easier to understand, we'll call this email address modomms)...
I then set up a forwarder in CPanel/Mail/Forwarders to pipe all unknown mail to that email address:
¦ /home/mydomain/mail/modomms/recmail.pl
Then, after making sure that all the details in recmail were correct and make absolutely sure that you CHMOD 777 (it doesn't seem to work with any other settings).
Is that how you have set yours up? If not, give it a go and see if it makes a difference. If it is how you have it set up, then we can investigate further!

Followup...
I've just been reading about the error you're recieving. It appears, from what I've read, the DBI module may not have been installed correctly. I'm guessing if you only have Cpanel access, you won't be installing modules like this, so it may be worth raising a ticket with your hosting company and see if a) it is installed and b) if it's installed correctly. Maybe, if they say it's already installed, ask them to re-install?
As for emailing from your phone...This was an issue that took me ages to figure out! Once you have it working from your PC, try this:
Change the MMS settings in your phone back to your original settings (standard Operator settings);
Create an MMS (not an email;
Send it to your unique email address.
Does that work? It works for me, but charges me full price MMS - in the UK, on O2 Network it's 25pence.
It doesn't work for me if I create an email in my messages, only if I create an MMS!
By the way, if you'd like to take a look at my installation of Peffisaur (feel free to register/post), the link is below. |
