I think there are a few features that would make mmsd very much more usable but still not requiring that much programming and it’s all about the admin side of things.
I think the ability to archive a message would be really nice. Sometimes you don’t want to lose a picture, you just don’t want it to show up on your homepage any more. I guess this could be achieved by just renaming the message directory name or move it to an archive directory for example.
An other nice feature would be to able to specify the number of messages to be displayed on a page so that only the last 10 messages show up for example. I think this would be extremely easy to achieve if you where a programmer, which I’m not! I rely on others to do things for me
By the way I have tweaked the admin interface so that it doesn’t use tables. That way it’s usable via the phone itself. Maybe the admin interface could exist in two versions in the future. One bloated with thumbnails and everything and one mini version to fit phone browsers. |

Thanks for the feedback! All nice features and worth implementing since it's very easy to achieve. "Will definitely do it in the future", he said and returned to the dream world again |

Hi,
if you have a look at O'Reilly's "Wireless Hacks" book, number 15 might be .. err, a useful source of inspiration? Called "Photo Blog automatically with the Nokia 3650", it uses email receipt of pics, rather than MMSC receipt, but the processing and display bit could be interesting:
".... simply send a photo to your secret photo email address. The script automatically decodes the email, creates a thumbnail, and puts the photo in a queue. When the queue accumulates perpage pictures. it rotates in the full page of photos, and moves the old page into an archive"
HTH,
