I have tried making it work with a samsung sgh s 300, but for some reason didnt get it to work.
It might be because i have to set my wap settings in the 'entertainment' menu and the mms settings in the 'media/messages' menu.
This for sure can work up a sweat if one setting is off.
Any tips or hint on how to go about this specific phone?
I read your 'readme' file and as far as i can tell, tellfort uses a combined mmsc:mms protocol. I hope that helps.
one last thing, wouldnt it be of help to make a gprs/data option in the forum with some links explaining gprs, links etc. so people might have a better understanding?
Hope we can make this script work for my phone too.
kind regards,
Mstyle |

Hi,
I've never heard of your operator so I'm not sure...but there seem to be a trick that works with many operators.
When operators deploy MMS many of them seem to think it's a good idea to deploy a seperate wap-gw for MMS. Then they set it up so that you can only access their MMSC through that Wap-GW. They probably do this so that wap traffic should not disturb MMS traffic.
However, and here is the "trick", they usually have another wap gw for other traffic, like surfing wml pages. If your operator has one then you should try to set that wap gw for mms as well and then insert the URL. Because that wap-gw is in general wide open to the outside.
And, yes, a GPRS option would probably be a good idea. We'll see... |

u might be on to something here.
first..the provider is www.telfort.nl (used to be o2 for a while)
They do use 2 adresses, now that u mention it.
- mmsc.mms.telfort.nl:8002
- multimedia.02.nl
I could fumble with that for a bit and see what it gets me.
Another thing, i can (or better yet have to) set an ip. This ip ,is it a gateway ip, a phone ip or... ?
if any news develops , i'll post it to the board.
Thanks so far. |

Yay...we have another winner.
The samsung sgh-s300 is working now on my telfort account.
I'm just not 100% sure yet if it operates free. I'll have to wait out my upcomming bill for that.
I expected i had to change the mmsc.mms.telfort.nl when instead i needed to change the multimedia.02.nl setting.
I'll send you a message on how i made this work, so u can add this phone to the list of working phones.
Thanks for the tip on the workaround. |
